should fatties pay more for clothes?

New Look in hot water after charging more for "plus size" clothing. Simple fabric consumption surely??

that's bollocks. Fabric is roughly 50-60% of a garment cost price depending on the fabric.

You’d do better taxing unhealthy food at a higher rate.
Material makes up almost nothing of the total price of most clothes. It would likely cost more to have some many clothes individually prices by size.

I haven't read the thread. Has any fat cunt claimed to be 'big boned' yet?
Hilarious. You're fat because you eat too much and don't get enough exercise.

You are 100% responsible for the food you shove in your mouth. Quit blaming other factors & go for a walk.

You could argue that the more material you buy the cheaper per yard price you can get. So there is an argument that fatties help the keep the price down for us buff hunks.

When someone is eatin g to the point tbat they are morbidly obese it has to be at least consudered a possibility that they have a behavioural addiction to food. I havent once said they shouldnt do something about it, for their own well being but dont see why we need as a society to demonise them. Quite frankly dont see bow it is helpful apart from to.those wanting someone to pick on.
Take the point about culture but there are a few factors in people adopting poor diets. Its not as easy as just always saying tbat person is greedy.

It's often down to pure greed too, but heaven forbid people take some responsibility for their own actions instead of playing the perpetual victim.

Debs, a more important factor is culture. Go to the US and you’ll see more than your fair share of grossly obese people. They’re that way because that sort of thing is more common and acceptable in the US.
A culture that’s more ‘accepting’ of self-destructive behavior will always have more of that behaviour.

and you are totally dismissing the fact that overeating often has a psychological/emotional cause which is a bit blinkered

Mate of mine is seriously ill. On lots of medication, steroids all sorts on top of being a bit daffy anyway, but mainly his medication has caused him to balloon.
Not really fair taxing him imo.
Fucking out of order actually.

In most cases their food shop is more expensive, and like many they'll shop around in a 'more for less' manner.
Do the same with clothing.....

...and before you start banging on about me being obese i.am a size 12/14
= size 18.
i dont care whether its with food or booze or drugs - if you abuse your body you should live with the consequences. or at least contribute to fixing them.
